Happy Monday, Everyone!
Can you believe it’s June 9th already? The new catalog has been out for 7 days now. Have you placed your order yet?
My first box of goodies arrived last Thursday and today five more stamp sets arrived that I received for free from Stampin’ Up! for achieving Stampin’ Start! Tomorrow another box of “everything I forgot because I was so excited last week when I placed my initial order” arrives. Excitement all over again!
I hope everyone had a great weekend. This weekend I had the opportunity to attend a triple birthday party! It was a lot of fun to celebrate with friends and family, plus I had the opportunity to design the name cards for the table. The colors were springtime colors and here is what I came up with:
The design is very simple and there is actually no stamping involved. Rather, it’s three punches, the Decorative Label (Item #120907), Elegant Butterfly (Item #127526) and the Flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (Item #133787). The background of the card is Wisteria Wonder and the mounted background is Very Vanilla embossed with the Lovely Lace (Item #133737) TIEF. The name, table number and food selection were printed on Pear Pizzazz paper prior to punching and, of course, nothing is complete without a little bling, so I added rhinestones to the flowers, punched on So Saffron paper, and the elegant butterfly, punched from Pink Pirouette Designer Series Paper. Everything was mounted using my favorite “adhesive”, Stampin’ Dimensionals!
While not complex, it dressed the tables up nicely with a little Stampin’ Up! and did the job of directing the guests to their correct table!
Now, let’s get to the Top 3 for Monday, June 9th! I’m really excited about these Top 3. Both stamp sets were actually available to demonstrators in either the Sneak Peek on May 1st or the Catalog Unveiling on April 28th, so I’ve had some playtime with each.
#1 – Traveler Stamp Set (page 38)
This is on my Top 3 list because the images are just amazing! Everyone that knows me knows that my second hobby after Stampin’ Up! is traveling and cruising! Needless to say I can find many uses for this stamp set, whether it’s a “Hello”, “Bon Voyage!”, or “Wish You Were Here!” card, or a scrapbook page, or some added flair in my Project Life album!
What will you make? Do you travel a lot, maybe by rail, or know someone who does? Imagine sending a card telling of your latest voyages on the high seas with an ocean liner stamped on the front!? Let your imagination take you around the world with this stamp set!
#2 – Work of Art Stamp Set (page 165)
This stamp set was given to us at the Catalog Unveiling on April 28th. The stamp set is amazing for the many, many things you can do with it. The different brush strokes can be used for a creative background or to add some color to your card or scrapbook page, or you can make a very simple, yet elegant card from the stamps in this set. Take a look at my blog post on June 2nd for an awesome and simple card you can make with this set!
For the Stampin’ Getaway last weekend I actually used both of these sets (plus World Map on page 38) to make my swap card.
The card is mounted on Night of Navy cardstock and the background is World Map (#130342/#130345) stamped in Night of Navy onto Whisper White cardstock. I used the ocean liner from the Traveler Stamp Set as the main image stamped in Cherry Cobbler. One of the brush stroke stamps from Work of Art, stamped with Pool Party, is the haze behind the ship and the haze behind the hello. And the card is embellished with a piece of 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon in Cherry Cobbler (Item #120992). This card had quite a number of pieces to it but was a lot of fun to design and make!
#3 – Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper (page 186)
I can honestly say that the picture above (from Stampin’ Up!) does not do this paper justice! All of the Designer Series Paper in the new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog is amazing and (in my humble) opinion worlds of improvement over the Designer Series Paper from last year! However, Sweet Taffy by far is one of the best. Whether the paper is used as background on a scrapbook page, for a card, or in a Project Life album, the bright colors are sure to add cheer and sunshine to your project! My favorite pattern is the first one with the Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight chevron shapes on whisper white cardstock! What is your favorite pattern from Sweet Taffy?
I hope you enjoyed my Top 3 for this week! Over the next day or two I’ll try to incorporate my three Top 3 picks into a project and share it with you – stay tuned!
Please remember that if you have any questions, see anything that interests you, need ideas or inspiration, or would like me to introduce some (or all) of these amazing new treasures from our new Catalog to your friends or family, I’m always available. Please feel free to call me or email me; as your Stampin’ Up! demonstrator I’m glad to help!
Have a wonderful rest of your Monday!
Let’s stamp the day (and night) away!
