As I mentioned yesterday, I had the privilege and opportunity to attend a Stampin’ Getaway this past weekend hosted by a fellow demonstrator, Kim H. The Getaway was held in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, about an hour and a half from Germantown. David and I attended as the only male participants, joined by over 50 women! We both had such a wonderful time and it was so neat to be surrounded by a bunch of other people who shared my same passion for Stampin’ Up! and cardmaking/papercrafting!
While at the Getaway, I had the opportunity to teach a class about Blendabilities, the new alcohol-based markers that are featured in the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog and will be released from Stampin’ Up! soon! I can’t wait to post more about these markers, but I figured I’d wait until closer to the release date to not tease you too much! Anyhow, the class was great. I had 10 wonderful ladies join me that made the class a terrific one to teach. I had the “coveted” time slot of 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and some of my students, as well as the instructor himself, weren’t quite awake, but I believe our good spirits, laughter, and love for Stampin’ Up! kept us all moving! In the class we had the opportunity to make three cards. One of the cards is Vivid Vases, which was featured in a previous post. The other two were Blended Bloom and In This Together. I’ll be featuring them soon in my Blendabilities post.
From Friday at 7:00 p.m. until Sunday at noon, including staying up until 4:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, I got to make 28 different cards (60 total). Here is a picture of the wonderful cards I got to make!
While I love EVERY card and give the fullest credit to the wonderful designers for their AMAZING talent, there were five cards that I absolutely love and are my favorites from the Getaway. Here is a close-up of my five faves.
OOPS! I guess there were six; how did that happen (smiles). I know some of you may be surprised that a card with butterflies, of all things, made my favorites list! I should point out that Pacific Point, which is the background on the butterflies card, is my favorite Stampin’ Up! color!
I hope you enjoy these pictures from the Stampin’ Getaway. As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I host events in which I can demonstrate how to make wonderful cards like these. I’m happy to host a demonstration or a workshop, in which you and your attendees can make various different cards, including variations of some of the ones featured above. Please feel free to contact me for more information!
Before I conclude my post, I’d like to thank Kim, George, Elaine, and Emily for hosting such a wonderful event. Through blood, sweat and tears (almost all literally!), you all did the most amazing job. Kim, you’re an inspiration to me as a demonstrator and person. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality this weekend!
Have a great night everyone!
Let’s stamp the day (and night) away!
